Day 6: A Community Transformed – Breaking Free from Consumer Culture
What are you chasing in life? What does success mean to you? In today’s fast-paced, consumer-driven world, many of us are caught in the endless cycle of “I will be happy when…”—when we have the latest phone, a better car, or a dream vacation. This mindset, fueled by secular culture, convinces us that meaning and happiness can be bought. But what if true fulfillment doesn’t come from having more, but from being transformed by God?
Day 5: God’s Plan for Ishmael
Have you ever wondered about God’s plan for the descendants of Ishmael? Often, we focus on God’s promises to Isaac, but the Bible also reveals His deep love and purpose for Ishmael and his descendants. Genesis 16:10 records God’s promise to Hagar: “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.” Today, many of Ishmael’s descendants are found in the Muslim world, a group of over 1.9 billion people. As followers of Christ, we are called to share His love with all nations—including our Muslim neighbors.
Day 4: Loving Your Neighbor as Yourself
The Adventist faith is deeply connected to the Jewish people? The Bible we read, the commandments we follow, and even Jesus Himself were all part of God’s story through Israel. Romans 11:17 reminds us that as Christians, we have been “grafted in” to God’s promises to His people. But despite our shared spiritual roots, many Jewish people have never encountered Jesus as their Messiah. As followers of Christ, we are called to love and build relationships with our Jewish neighbors in a way that reflects God’s heart.
Day 3: Your City, Your Mission: Sharing Jesus Where You Are
Bunbury Youth, have you ever considered that God has placed you right where you are for a purpose? We often think of mission work as something that happens overseas, but what if God is calling you to be a missionary in your own city? Acts 1:8 reminds us, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Our “Jerusalem” is right here in Bunbury, and we are called to reach our friends, neighbors, and classmates with the love of Jesus.
Day 1: The Unfinished Mission – Reaching Buddhists with the Gospel
Bunbury Youth, have you ever thought about the millions of people who have never heard about Jesus? One of the largest unreached groups in the world is Buddhists, making up over 520 million people. Many live in Southeast Asia, where less than 1% of the population has accepted Jesus. As followers of Christ, we are called to share the Gospel with all nations, including those who have never encountered Him. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commands us to “go and make disciples of all nations.” This includes Buddhists, many of whom have never had the opportunity to hear the Good News. The mission is unfinished, and God is calling young people—like us—to step up and be part of His plan. Are you willing to answer the call?
Day 2: Crossing Cultural Barriers – Sharing Jesus with Hindus
Did you know that over 1.2 billion Hindus in the world have yet to hear about Jesus in a way that resonates with their culture? Many South Asians, particularly in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, grow up in deeply rooted traditions that shape their spiritual lives. As followers of Christ, we are called to reach all people, regardless of their background. 1 Peter 3:15 reminds us, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” If we want to share the Good News with Hindus, we must first understand their beliefs, show them Christ’s love, and break down cultural barriers through meaningful relationships.
